BBC New Voices Winner 2025, Humaira has been at the centre of the City of Culture coverage in Bradford throughout the year. She has presented across national primetime shows including BBC One’s The One Show, and BBC Radio 2 and 5Live. She works closely with BBC Radio Leeds and fronted a 10-part series for BBC Sounds, Hidden Bradford.
At 25 years old, Humaira is a raw, powerful and dynamic voice with a focus on unique human stories with soul and culture at their heart, and a passion for bringing young, Muslim, female voices like her own into the mainstream.
Her presenting credits so far include Celebrity EiD (BBC One), Behind The Scenes for Celebrity Bargain Hunt (BBC One), Look North (BBC One Yorkshire), BBC Breakfast (BBC One), Hidden Bradford (BBC Sounds), and Big Up Bradford (BBC Radio Leeds). She has also hosted live events including private screenings for CBBC, the Bradford Poetry Slam, and provided voice over for The National Science and Media Museum, Story Film & Photography, and First Buses. On Social Media, she is quickly making a name for herself with vibrant, genuine content that is crafted with real care and packed with substance. Especially when it comes to celebrating her home town and surrounding area of West Yorkshire. She has collaborated with a mix of regional and national brands including producing content for the Turner Prize, The Alhambra Theatre in Bradford, First Buses, and Visit England.
With an academic background in STEM, Humaira studied at the University of Bradford where she was rewarded with a Bachelor in Science in Optometry. She has worked as an Optometrist across the UK, and has been a clinic supervisor since January 2024.
